can't wait...

Things I look forward to :
  • My flight is at 5:50 AM
  • We arrive at 7:30, then load-in
  • The temp in Atlanta will be 97
  • I will have 16 wireless microphones to deal with : next door to CNN. Interference much ?
and I just realized that the Sox will be playing the Braves - in Boston....

Atlanta bound

We will be in Atlanta tomorrow where the temp will be 97 degrees. Yeehah ! The last time I was in Atlanta for a show, I was in a little cafe and I asked for iced coffee, and they looked at me like I was from Mars. As if they had never heard of such a thing.

Me: "It's kind of like iced tea - but it's iced coffee !!"  Then, I said, "Could you please, just pour some coffee into a glass of ice? "

Waitress: "But then all the ice is gonna' melt.."
Me : "I'll just have to take that chance.."

Maybe, by now they have discovered Iced Coffee...

have podium mic... will travel to Manhattan next week, looking for a good seafood restaurant ... any suggestions ???

"In North America, the American lobster did not become a popular food until the mid-19th century, when New Yorkers and Bostonians developed a taste for the species..... Prior to this time, eating lobster was considered a mark of poverty or as a food for indentured servants or lower members of society in Maine, Massachusetts and the Canadian Maritimes. Prior to the American Revolutionary War, dock workers in Boston went on strike, protesting having to eat lobster more than three times a week"

Charlotte

Here, we brought in PA, monitors, and lights to the Charlotte Bobcats Arena for a three day event. It was about 120 degrees outside, but luckily we were in the arena for 14 hours a day and there was a Dunkin Donuts around the corner....
Tech notes : Monitor System was a Yamaha PM5d with 8 wedge mixes, and 10 mixes going to an Aviom system...
