So, I bought a digital converter box ($5.00 with government coupon) to receive over-the-air digital TV broadcasts. Now, my 'rabbit ears' connect to the converter box which connects via coaxial to my old antiquated TV, and it looks good, and it's free...

guitarron
We provided Sound and Lights for the 'Latino Explosion Concert'...Featuring banda and mariachi bands that spoke very little english
"Banda (often referred to as banda sinaloense in Spanish in order to distinguish it from other types of bands, since banda simply means "band" in Spanish) is a brass-based form of traditional Mexican music. Bandas play a wide variety of songs, including rancheras, corridos, cumbias, baladas, and boleros. Bandas are most widely known for their rancheras..." more from Wikipediawith all kinds of instruments like the guitarron, tubas, clarinets, and some things I can't pronounce, it was another interesting event....

Sonoluminescence, Quasars, and the Prandtl-Glauert Singularity
just because i was thinking about sound, light, sonoluminescence, quasars, throat singing, and the Prandtl-Glauert Singularity :
Light :"snaps a specialized claw to create a cavitation wave that generates pressure levels of 218dB, the pressure wave is strong enough to kill small fish, and can also produce Sonoluminescence (the emission of short bursts of light from imploding bubbles in a liquid when excited by sound....)" ... from Wikipedia
Deadly pistol shrimp that stuns prey with sound as loud as Concorde found in UK waters .... from Mail Online
"The brightest object yet observed in the universe has been discovered by a University of Washington astronomer and his colleagues.
The quasar (or quasi-stellar object) is 4 million-billion to 5 million-billion times brighter than the Sun. It is estimated to be more than 10 times brighter than any other quasar, and outshines the brightest galaxy by more than 100 times." ... from EurekAlert!
Sound :
"It took Dalhousie University professor Jason Brown six months and some advanced mathematical analytical techniques to crack the code behind one of the most mysterious sounds in music: the "prraaaaaangg" sound at the beginning of the Beatles' "Hard Day's Night." Guitarists have puzzled over how this chord is played for decades because it contains a note that would be impossible for the Beatles' two guitarists and bassist to play in one take, and experts have concluded that no multitracking was involved in this part of the song. The secret sauce, as it turns out, includes five piano notes apparently played by producer George Martin. Brown made the discovery by disassembling the sampled amplitudes into the original frequencies using Fourier transforms." ... from wired
Sound :
...interesting condensation clouds that form around jets as they fly at or near the speed of sound, (often called "going through the sound barrier" or "accelerating past the speed of sound"). Under the right conditions, and even at lower speeds, they sometimes cause a vapor cone effect. Understand that these Prandtl-Glauert condensation clouds can also occur at lower speeds, and are not really a visible manifestation of some kind of a sound barrier being broken... from Wilk4

my George Harrison dream
Recently, I had a dream that George Harrison was at my house...
After a couple of days somebody sent me a link to MTVMusic (which has thousands of videos from the days when MTV played music) as I was looking around at the videos I found this video of the Traveling Wilburys , a great band featuring Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Roy Orbinson, Bob Dylan, and George Harrison...I remember when this video came out... Roy Orbinson had passed away,... and the scene with his guitar in the rocking chair (at 1:45) just floored me...
I have no idea where this came from... but, he was walking around my house, and all I could think of was "I can't let him see all my Beatles stuff.. he'll think I'm crazy"..
In my dream I was worried about hiding my Beatles collection, and I was remarkably calm about the fact that he was back from the dead....So...what does it mean ?

Endeavor to persevere
"I wore this frock coat to Washington, before the war. We wore them because we belonged to the five civilized tribes.
We dressed ourselves up like Abraham Lincoln.
You know we got to see the Secretary of the Interior.
He said "Boy you sure look civilized." He congratulated us and he gave us medals for looking so civilized.
We told him about how our land had been stolen and our people were dying.
When we finished he shook our hand and said "Endeavor to persevere"...
They took our pictures and the newspapers said "Indians vow to endeavor to persevere."
We thought about it for a long time.
"Endeavor to persevere."
And when we had thought about it long enough,
we declared war on the Union."
Lone Waite, Indian chief - from "The Outlaw Jose Wales"

Comedy of Errors
...so there I was, running audio for the Aquila Theater Companys' reinterpretation of the Comedy of Errors....an hour into it, everything was going good, the audience (aprox 400 Middle School students) were enjoying the performance, I was enjoying it, and then...people started leaving...within minutes the place was empty...what the....? Apparentley, some parents/teachers? in the audience felt that the material was inapproriate for middle school students, so they walked out...show over...
Thankfully, the evening show went off without a hitch, and it was fantastic...
